Today is the final day in my placement at Northview High School working with Mrs. Lockwood and some of the greatest kids I've ever met. I feel so fortunate to have been given the opportunity to learn and grow alongside such a diverse and unique group of individuals. It has been an experience I will never forget. I am so excited to take all the things I have learned in the classroom and apply them to my own classes in the future. Below is a link to a student survey so that I may gain some insight into how I can better serve my students in the future.
If you are taking the survey, please give your honest feedback and complete the entire survey. Thank you for the time we have been able to share together.

It's Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and I (sort of) get a day off from class to catch up on things and prepare for the rest of the week. I feel like my progress in the classroom has been a bit slower than some of my classmates but I am confident that I can catch up and start assuming a larger role in the classroom where I am assisting. Today I'd like to share an African American artist whose work I saw in Chicago a couple years ago. Kerry James Marshall lives and works in Chicago and his paintings address African American history, civil rights and popular culture. His large scale narrative paintings depict urban landscapes and African American life with influence from Renaissance masters and an acute awareness of artistic conventions used in the contemporary world of fine art. He understands what it takes to make an impact and give a voice to African American culture and people in the world of art today.
